I was devastated by ER tonight. Freakin depressing. Just had to get that out there.
OK - deep cleansing breath....
On the bright side, the Donald was fabulous tonight.
Thursday is my TV night. Myra cooks dinner on Thursdays because I can't be bothered. I have serious TV watching to do. She made shish kabobs and they were great.
I wish tomorrow wasn't a holiday. I wonder if the mall will be open on Good Friday. I guess it will. I feel a shopping trip coming on.
I went to the chiropractor today and he said I have an aura of happy energy all around me. He is used to seeing me all stressed out from dealing with the morons at my ex-job. I am like a new person now that I have gotten the toxic situation out of my life.
I had to go pick up my last paycheck from the old place today and I was absolutely shocked that I didn't have to fight with them to get my check. They like to withhold last paychecks and hassle ex-employees with bogus delays and stuff. They are also notorious for "accidentally" issuing a heinously wrong final paycheck. Our COTA (OT's assistant) got 150 bucks for her last paycheck when it should have been a full paycheck. She was less than thrilled.
Our ex-receptionist was told that she couldn't have her final paycheck until she returned something the administrator accused her of taking. I figured he would pull something like that on me, and I was ready for it. It's not legal to hold a paycheck for work that was done. Oddly enough, they didn't pull anything. I got my paycheck without any trouble.
Several things have happened that appear to be signs that I am doing exactly what I should be doing with my life right now. I am going to be working 4 days a week on several consecutive week long trips out of town. I'm booked solid for the next 6 weeks or so with probable new projects to begin as soon as these current 3 projects are finished. I had 1 massage appointment per week and 2 chiropractic appointments per week. Since I will be out of town 4 days a week, it would be very hard to make my appointments, but things have worked out with amazing timing. My massage therapist finished her clinicals last week, so my Tuesday appointments are no more. Today, my chiropractor graduated me down to 1 appointment per week and I will be seen on Fridays from now on. I'll be back home on Fridays. So in a turn of perfect timing, my Monday-Thursday schedule is cleared.
Astrologically, this is my year for career changes and for focusing more on my search for more fulfilling work. I knew when I was in college that I wanted to be a consultant rather than spending all my career on a 9-5 in one office doing one job.
I have to stop talking about work, because it is not interesting. So sorry, old bean. Will try to get a new topic.
Here's a little joke:
A mother was working in the kitchen listening to her 5-year-old son playing with his new electric train in the living room. She heard the train stop and her son saying, "All of you sons of bitches who want off, get the hell off now...cause this is the last stop!
And all of you sons of bitches who are getting on, get your asses in the train...cause we're going down the tracks.
The horrified mother went in and told her son, "We don't use that kind of language in this house. Now I want you to go to your room and you are to stay there for TWO HOURS. When you come out, you may play with your train...but I want you to use nice language."
Two hours later, the son came out of the bedroom and resumed playing with his train. Soon the train stopped and the mother heard her son say..."All passengers, please remember your things, thank you and I hope your
trip was a pleasant one. We hope you will ride with us again soon." Then she heard her little darling continue... "For those of you just boarding, remember, there is no smoking in the train. We hope you will have a pleasant and relaxing journey with us today.:"
Just as the mother began to smile and feel she had won the battle, the child added, "For those of you who are pissed off about the TWO HOUR delay, please see the bitch in the kitchen..."
