Guess where I've been?!?!?!
It was excellent! Staind is great in concert. They are so giving and interactive. Aaron Lewis, the lead singer, talks a lot to the audience during the show and he says funny things. They were awesome.
Before I get off on a crazy tangent, let me also say the other bands did great too. Especially Three Days Grace. They have about 4 songs out on the radio and they are very good. I'd had their song "Animal" stuck in my head all day. They do a very good show. There were 2 other bands who are less known, but starting to get their big breaks right about now. One is "Soil". They are from Chicago and they put on a very good show.
The other band was called Revelation Theory. They were very good too.
Ok - tangent time. I went to this concert with Binky and we had to park in Timbuktu because we waited too late to show up. We got there at 6:30 and the show started at 7:00 pm. Somehow we managed to get our asses in the door real quick, despite the fact that there were no good parking spaces available and there was a crazy long line. People had been out there for hours. We just walked in with very minimal waiting. I'm not sure how we pulled that off. Apparently God loves us and wants us to be happy.
Saw a great show... went back to the car... which happened to be parked way around back... right by the BUSSES. The band's busses. The guys from Soil were out there smoking and we walked up and they started talking to us. We told them they did a great show and we shook their hands and got some autographs. We were hoping Aaron Lewis would come out and GUESS WHAT?!?!?!?
We got to hang out back there and chat up Aaron Lewis of Staind!! There was a padlocked fence between us, but we could touch him, take pics with the cell phone, and he signed stuff for us. He signed that ticket in the first picture. That is Aaron Lewis's signature. He also signed our sticky notes, but he does not sign boobies. If he would have been a boobie signer, I would be posting a picture of my signed boobies right about here, but instead, here's a picture of Aaron, up close and personal, signing something:
So cute, so sweet. So polite.
Bink told Aaron that she is a massage therapist and gave him her business card and he said "Where were you earlier??" He told her very seriously to go talk to the people at the civic center, because bands want massages and they pay 2 bucks a minute for massages and they don't know who to call. He said they would have definitely wanted to get massages before the show if they had known in time. So she is going to try to line that up for future concerts. Meanwhile, Aaron put her business card inside his wallet!! He has her digits!! I doubt she'll sleep at all tonight.
I told them what a great show they put on and they told us that the bands were all talking about what an amazing audience our town is. They said it was a really good enthusiastic audience. We were extremely enthusiastic because the big name bands don't usually play our little town. We were flippin grateful!
Aaron was very sweet and he makes really excellent eye contact. He seems to really appreciate the positive feedback.
I snapped this picture while these other people were getting pictures with him:
I took a whole bunch of pictures, but a lot of them were blurry. Here's a blurry one of Aaron and 2 other guys walking out to see us:
Aaron is the guy in the middle. This blurry picture was almost not worth posting, but here it is anyway.
I am so exhausted. I had hardly any sleep last night and now it's 3:00 am. All the excitement had me all hyped up and I'm starting to crash now.
Remember kids, it pays to hang around where the busses are after the concert!!
