My computer network in my house is down. We put the modem and router on Myra's computer when we set the thing up a couple years ago. My laptop accesses the internet via built-in wireless card. My desktop has an external wireless adapter and neither of my computers can see the network all of a sudden. I just can't get online.
I suspect the router has bitten the dust. It seems that the signal is not getting from the router to the other computers on the network. The signal is coming into the house, because Myra's computer is working. That is where I am right now.
Myra is getting a sweet, sweet computer. It is on order right now and will be here soon. It has a 500 gig hard drive for the love of Pete! She needs it for recording purposes. Business expense, tax write off. Good stuff.
So here's the deal: I called the cable company for help a few days ago and they have yet to help me. I have to go through a roster of idiots who know nothing and cannot help me in any way, then they inform me that the guys who can really help are at a number that does not receive incoming calls. They only do outbound calls, so I'll have to wait for them to contact me. I've gone through that rigamarole 3 times, 3 days in a row, and I have yet to receive a return call from them. So I just called the cable company and set up a service call. They can roll a truck out here and fix it the expensive way, since they cannot see their way clear to call me on the phone and walk me through the troubleshooting.
I should be back in business by Wednesday. I loathe computer problems. I needs my connectivity.
I have a hurty spot in my back and I am going to get me a massage. Yikes! I have to get there pretty soon.
I'll see you cats later.
