Apparently I spoke too soon about my good fortune. Let me just tell you how the tables have turned...
The slimy insurance company is now saying they are not going to pay for the damage their insured driver did to my now useless car. I am going to report them to the Insurance Commissioner and get myself an attorney who shall sue their asses off if they do not pay for my car repairs real quick-like.
I can probably get enough money in pain and suffering and general settlement to cover the cost of the transmission repair. The dumb-asses could have gotten off a lot cheaper if they'd just taken responsibility and paid what they owe. This is why people are sue happy. Because insurance companies are beligerant and think they can slide by without doing the right thing.
My facility had an anonymous complaint from a disgruntled ex employee which spawned an inspection that had us all hanging precariously in the balance. We still don't know the verdict, but if they were going to shut us down, I think they would not still be dealing with us and negotiating anything.
I am now staying in Shreveport this week and not going down south, so there goes my outlet mall shopping trip. But I can do that next week when all is back to the chaotic norm.
Even with all this crap going on, I am a happy girl. I'm just an optimist. I think things will work out. While many of my co-workers were sweating and gnashing their teeth, I was sitting in the theater watching "Skeleton Key", which I enjoyed. I didn't think about work at all while I was watching the movie. Seriously, I must be getting desensitized to crisis situations.
I've got to hit the sack now. I'm exhausted and I have to be up in about 6 hours. Damn. There's not enough hours in the day.
