Last night Libby said to me:
"Mimi, did you know that dogs smell each other's privacies?"
When I looked at her, she had her nose all wrinkled up in her disapproval of the dog ass sniffing rituals that have been going on apparently without her knowledge up until very recently. I said "Yes, dogs are SO uncivilized."
I think it's funny that Libby refers to "privates" as "privacies".
I have a lot to do today. You'd never know it to look at me. I seem to be lollygagging in an almost motionless way. I will be flying into a frenzy of action at any moment though. I have no alternative, since I've got to hit the happy trail tomorrow and I won't be back home until Thursday night.
I need to do my laundry, pack for my trip, call in a hotel reservation, and do some housework. That's just the immediate stuff that I've got to do. I have other things that need to be done, but can safely be procrastinated.
It's almost too hot to live. Fortunately, I have air-conditioning, but I have to live with the unpleasant knowledge that outside my air conditioned home, the air is suffocatingly thick and hot. A body can positively melt while waiting for the car AC to kick in. There's no such thing as enjoying the great outdoors in this state between July and September. It get's too hot in May or June and stays too hot until mid October.
Come onnnnnnn October.
